$849 gets buyers Asus ROG’s Xreal R1 AR glasses, with Best Buy preorders opening May 15 and Xreal store orders following on May 17.
240Hz is the headline upgrade over the $650 Xreal One Pro’s 120Hz, while most other specs stay the same, including a 171-inch 1080p virtual display and 57-degree field of view.
The package also adds an ROG Control Dock that switches among three devices—two HDMI 2.0 and one DisplayPort 1.4 input—targeting console and PC gamers.
Asus says the glasses need no extra software and can connect to phones, tablets, laptops and handhelds with display-out support; Switch 2 use requires the dock after Xreal’s Neo adapter was canceled.
