Meta is rolling out virtual writing to all Meta Ray-Ban Display users, letting them compose messages with hand gestures in WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, and native Android and iOS messaging.
The feature uses Meta’s neural wristband and had been limited since January to early access on WhatsApp and Messenger after missing the glasses’ initial launch.
New software updates also add “display recording,” which captures the lens display view, the real-world scene, and surrounding audio in a single video.
Walking directions now work across the entire US and in major cities including London, Paris, and Rome, while live captions expand to WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram voice messages.
Meta also opened a developer preview for Ray-Ban Display apps, including web apps, widening the smart glasses platform beyond Meta’s own features.
