Seattle police said 19-year-old Juniper Blessing was fatally stabbed more than 40 times Sunday evening at a housing complex near the University of Washington.
Blessing was a transgender teen from Santa Fe and a 2024 graduate of the New Mexico School for the Arts, linking the killing to communities far beyond Seattle.
The family, in a statement issued Thursday by the Santa Fe Human Rights Alliance, said the loss "devastates us" and "diminishes the world."
