June 8 will bring Apple’s iOS 27 debut at WWDC, with the update centered on a rebuilt Siri that reports say will add a standalone app and chatbot-style interface.
AI is the main driver: iOS 27 is expected to let users choose among multiple models, including Google and Anthropic, while pushing deeper Apple Intelligence and Visual Intelligence integration across apps.
Privacy remains a core pitch, with more on-device processing, Apple’s Private Cloud Compute for cloud tasks, and greater transparency around how Siri data is handled when third-party models are used.
Wallet is also set for an upgrade, adding paper-ticket and pass scanning into digital form, alongside tighter scanning security and broader text and nutrition-label recognition without external data sharing.
The update follows Apple’s iOS 26.5 release and comes as the company tries to close an AI gap with rivals without weakening its long-running privacy message.
