Two Special Illustration Rare cards for Japan’s upcoming Pitch Black set—Gwynn and Mega Chandelure—were newly posted on the Pokémon Japan website ahead of the release later this month.
Mega Chandelure’s card uses a dark background and purple-blue flames around the Pokémon’s floating candles, while Gwynn’s SIR spotlights the Legends Z-A trainer in one of the set’s first major character reveals.
The Japanese release is also known as Abyss Eye, and the reveals add to anticipation around a set already drawing attention for its darker Ghost- and Dark-type focus, including Darkrai.
