Nearly four weeks after her last recorded vote on April 17, Rep. Frederica Wilson has not voted on any House matter and has not publicly explained her absence.
The 83-year-old Florida Democrat also appears absent from recent Transportation and Infrastructure and Education and Workforce committee hearings, despite both panels meeting several times.
Her office has kept social media active during the gap, including a post that reused photos from an October event and drew scrutiny for implying she was still appearing publicly.
Wilson, who has represented Florida’s 24th District since 2013, faces an August 18 Democratic primary challenger ahead of the November election in a seat rated safely Democratic.
Her unexplained disappearance echoes the recent absence of New Jersey Republican Thomas Kean Jr., whose office disclosed a personal health matter only after weeks of questions.
