Oculus Launches Gear VR Arcade Beta With 21 Classic Games as Consumer Headset Pre-Orders Open

Oculus rolled out the beta of Oculus Arcade across all Gear VR models, bundling 21 classic titles from Sega, Midway and Bandai Namco ahead of the first consumer headset’s launch later this month.
The app ties into the new consumer Gear VR pre-order push and also works on older devices, from the Galaxy Note 4 version through Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge headsets.
Three gamepads are supported — Samsung EI-GP20, Moga Pro and SteelSeries Android — letting players access virtual arcade cabinets grouped by publisher via point-and-click teleportation.
Each game includes 20 minutes of total play before an in-app purchase is required to unlock it permanently, with Oculus saying more titles are expected over time.
Oculus has not said whether social play will be added, leaving the beta focused on recreating a solo retro arcade experience inside Samsung’s VR ecosystem.
