Free Speech For People Urges 11 Democrats to Oust Kurt Olsen From DOJ

An 11-lawmaker push began Tuesday after Free Speech For People asked Democrats to seek Kurt Olsen’s removal from the Justice Department and investigate his role in wrongful access to voting equipment.
Olsen now serves in the U.S. attorney’s office in South Florida on a team probing a supposed “grand conspiracy” against Trump after previously handling White House election security.
Court records cited in the letter say Olsen helped drive efforts to access election systems and documents in Fulton County and Puerto Rico and may have copies of software taken in schemes from 2020 to 2022.
His placement is drawing scrutiny because Olsen joined failed efforts to overturn Trump’s 2020 loss and pressed DOJ officials to support them, despite Trump officials finding no widespread fraud.
Republican control of Congress makes removal unlikely, but Democrats could still use the complaint to investigate a Florida team that also includes other Trump-allied election conspiracy figures.
