That means non-Samsung Android users can still use the watch for core smartwatch functions and more general wellness tracking, such as sleep, stress, GPS, notifications, calls, and app downloads through Wear OS. But the more advanced, regulated health features Samsung promotes are effectively locked out without a Galaxy handset. On the AI side, you also miss Galaxy AI smart replies, which are designed to work within Samsung’s ecosystem. Remote camera control is another Galaxy-dependent feature that does not fully carry over when the watch is paired with a non-Samsung phone. So the trade-off is clear: the Amazon discount makes the Watch Ultra more affordable, but buyers outside Samsung’s phone ecosystem do not get the full premium experience.
