Summary
$1 billion in client assets will join AlphaCore after the La Jolla-based RIA bought Colorado's Elk River Wealth Management, extending its push in Denver and Cherry Creek.
AlphaCore, which manages about $10 billion, said the deal adds local leadership as Elk River founder Chris Freimuth becomes a managing partner and Elk River's team receives equity.
More than 120 employees will work across investment advice, tax, risk, trust and estate, family governance and philanthropy after the transaction closes.
Colorado has become a key expansion market for AlphaCore: Elk River is its third acquisition there after Johnston & Associates and All Season Financial.
Constellation-backed AlphaCore said it expects more acquisitions this year, with family office services a priority.
