Summary
344 jobs at Primm Valley Resort & Casino were spared after the Primm family signed an agreement with Las Vegas-based Terrible’s to operate the Nevada-California border hotel-casino properties.
The rescue came weeks before a planned July 4 shutdown of Primm’s last casino hotel, after current operator Affinity Interactive said the business was no longer viable because of continuing losses and failed investment efforts.
Terrible’s said it aims to preserve Primm’s legacy and pursue growth, while the family said the partnership should allow a more orderly transition for workers who had faced holiday layoffs.
Primm’s decline has unfolded over years: Whiskey Pete’s closed in December 2024, Buffalo Bill’s was reduced to special events in July 2025, and a full shutdown this summer would have idled 624 rooms and 46,000 square feet of entertainment.
The family said future plans could include renovations and upgraded traveler amenities, and it is betting a proposed Southern Nevada Supplemental Airport near Primm could revive long-term tourism.
