PAS Ends Cooperation With Bersatu Ahead of Malaysia's Next General Election

PAS said its central working committee decided late Monday to end formal cooperation with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, opening a new split in Malaysia's opposition camp.
Abdul Hadi Awang said the Islamist party will now review its ties with Bersatu and explore new political arrangements built around what he called Muslim unity.
The move deepens an existing rift between the two allies and jolts opposition positioning as parties begin to look toward the next general election.
