Goodhue County Judge Halts Pine Island Google Data Center With $2,000 TRO Bond

$2,000 in security from the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy will trigger a temporary restraining order blocking construction and pre-construction work on Pine Island's proposed Google data center.
Goodhue County's judge said MCEA showed irreparable harm if work continued, siding for now with its lawsuit against the City of Pine Island and developer Ryan Companies over the project's environmental review.
The challenged Project Skyway development has drawn local opposition centered on water use, energy demand and noise pollution.
Ryan Companies is barred from activity within the project's Alternative Urban Areawide Review area once the bond is posted, and the order does not say how long the halt will last.
