Dana White said the UFC did not deliberately counter-program Most Valuable Promotions' MMA debut when it unveiled Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway 2 for UFC 329 on July 11.
White said the fight was finalized during UFC Vegas 117 and insisted the timing reflected the UFC's own event schedule, not any effort to undercut MVP or Francis Ngannou.
The announcement landed on White's Instagram Live as Ngannou made his walkout before stopping Philipe Lins by TKO, quickly shifting online attention from MVP's Netflix card.
That card also featured Ronda Rousey submitting Gina Carano in 17 seconds, but the overlap revived criticism that the UFC has a history of counter-programming rival MMA promotions.
