Google has begun rolling out a redesigned Google Wallet app for Android, pairing the update with Google Pay approval for desktop purchases through an Android phone.
The new verification flow lets users confirm payments with biometrics, a PIN or QR-code scanning, aiming to tighten checkout security while cutting redirects and one-time password prompts.
Wallet’s refreshed interface puts passes, boarding tickets and payment cards closer to the home screen, with larger cards for time-sensitive items such as flights and event tickets.
A new “View more” button opens a searchable hub for stored passes, transaction history and other Wallet content, while live updates surface changes to flights and events more clearly.
Google also previewed developer-facing additions at I/O 2026, including digital receipts, contactless loyalty enrollment and digital ID verification tools.
