Arkansas moved onto the hosting line as Baseball America’s penultimate bracket projection slotted the Razorbacks at No. 16 and pushed Mississippi State to a No. 2 seed at Morgantown.
The switch hinged on Arkansas’ stronger case—an 18-12 Quad I record, a 2-1 head-to-head series edge over Mississippi State and a chance to reach 40 wins with the SEC Tournament title.
Five Sun Belt teams made the projected field after a strong Saturday, with Southern Miss still hosting, Coastal Carolina set as a No. 2 seed, Louisiana off the bubble and Texas State among the last four in.
Mercer also stayed in the field despite a stolen Southern bid by The Citadel, while Pitt and TCU were cut as late bid thieves and stronger bubble resumes squeezed the at-large pool.
