Engines re-fired at 2:35 p.m. after rain halted the Indianapolis 500 for 12 minutes with 105 of 200 laps completed.
Scott Dixon led when the race was stopped at 2:22 p.m., with Alex Palou second and Team Penske drivers David Malukas, Josef Newgarden and Scott McLaughlin next.
The stoppage came after the race had already become official at Lap 101; if weather had prevented a restart before sundown, the result could have stood.
