Project Mulberry, Apple’s AI health coach, is now expected to arrive later in the iOS 27 cycle rather than with the initial release, after the effort was recently scaled back.
Apple slowed the project because it judged the service not yet competitive with existing health subscriptions and wanted more time to refine the product under a reorganized health team.
watchOS 27 is still set to bring improved Apple Watch heart-rate tracking, even as the update otherwise emphasizes stability, performance and smaller refinements over major new features.
The redesigned Health app could still debut in iOS 27, but the AI coach and a related Apple Health+ subscription may slip to a later update such as iOS 27.1, iOS 27.4 or between.
