Chicago Hit-and-Run Kills 64-Year-Old Woman on South Stony Island Avenue

A 64-year-old woman died at the scene after a dark-colored sedan struck the SUV she was riding in early Sunday on the 6900 block of South Stony Island Avenue.
Chicago police said the SUV was traveling northbound in Grand Crossing when the eastbound sedan hit it, and the sedan’s driver ran from the crash on foot.
No other injuries were reported, and officials have not released the woman’s identity or a description of the fleeing driver.
CPD’s Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating the fatal crash, and no arrest had been announced.
