Bola Tinubu won overwhelming support in All Progressives Congress primaries, reinforcing his position as the ruling party’s standard-bearer for Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election.
Stanley Osifo was his only challenger, leaving little sign of a competitive internal contest as Tinubu tightened his grip on the nomination process.
The vote forms part of the APC’s nationwide candidate-selection exercise and builds on the party’s endorsement of Tinubu last year for a second term run.
That backing further strengthens the incumbent president’s hand well ahead of next year’s election campaign.
