Utah corrections officials released Kouri Richins’ prison mugshot after she was sentenced on May 13 to life without parole for murdering her husband, Eric Richins.
Jurors convicted the Utah mother and self-published children’s book author of aggravated murder after prosecutors said she gave her husband a lethal fentanyl dose at their home near Park City in March 2022.
The verdict also covered attempted aggravated murder, forgery and insurance fraud, with prosecutors arguing Richins was driven by debt, life-insurance money and an expected multimillion-dollar inheritance.
