Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Deathwatch will hit Xbox Series X|S in winter 2026, with Complex Games positioning the sequel as a turn-based tactics entry that also welcomes newcomers to the franchise.
Seven enemy factions and up to nine playable classes anchor the new campaign, where players command a Deathwatch Kill Team and can recruit, customize and combine units from across the Imperium.
Squad design has been expanded to eight units, letting Complex Games split roles more sharply between melee and ranged specialists while doubling down on environmental tactics such as toppling pillars or hurling enemies off ledges.
Complex Games said console support shaped development from the start, with UI and controls built around both controller and keyboard-and-mouse play rather than being adapted late for Xbox.
Revealed at Warhammer Skulls on May 21, the game follows Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters and keeps its core tactical feel while adding more player agency on and off the battlefield.
