73-year-old Alfred Molina said he wants Netflix’s newly released eight-episode series “The Boroughs” to continue, adding the writers have long envisioned a three-season arc even though no renewal has been announced.
May 21 marked the full-season debut of the supernatural drama, with Molina leading as widowed engineer Sam Cooper, who joins fellow seniors to expose owners draining residents’ life force to pursue immortality.
Molina said the scripts and The Duffer brothers’ early involvement helped sell him on the project, while an ensemble including Geena Davis, Bill Pullman and Alfre Woodard gave the set a reunion-like feel.
The finale leaves Sam and the others still living at The Boroughs despite breaking its curse, and Molina said that lingering threat gives the show room to continue if Netflix orders Season 2.
