Thousands of people turned out downtown Saturday as Sioux Falls' Falls Art Market and Falls Park Farmer’s Market opened their summer seasons.
The art market set up on the east side of the Levitt Shell, where organizers said nearby hotels, restaurants and other downtown foot traffic help bring shoppers to local artists.
The farmer’s market also opened strongly, with organizers saying interest carried over from a successful Winter Market and was boosted by warmer weather, live music and a family-friendly local-vendor mix.
The Falls Art Market returns June 27 for its next event, while the Falls Park Farmer’s Market will run every Saturday through Oct. 31.
